This 7 Day Cape Town Route 62 Tour starts and ends in Cape Town, giving you the opportunity to extend your holiday by a few days to explore the jewel of South Africa. From the Cape Metropolis, we ride along winding mountain passes into the interior of South Africa, passing the winelands of Franschhoek and Robertson. We visit the historical villages of Matjiesfontain and Prince Albert before we cross the Swartberg mountains to Oudtshoorn. From here we ride down to the coast to experience the famous Garden Route around Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. The return journey to Cape Town takes us along Route 62 through the Karoo to Montague before we reach the coast. We will stop in Hermanus for some whale watching and ride back through Gordon’s Bay along Claren’s Drive.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
9H00 collection of motorcycles. After a short introduction, we will depart on a tour to the Cape of Good Hope incl. Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive(weather dependant), Scarborough, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Simons Town (penguins), Ou Kaapse Weg. This tour takes us along some of the well-known Cape passes and to all the major tourist attractions. This route gives us a chance to get acquainted with the bikes and the fact that South Africans do drive on the left.
Lunch, dinner, 3* overnight and breakfast. Daily distance approximately 185km.
Day 2
Today we are leaving Cape Town via the N1. Your luggage will be transported in the accompanying van and be taken care of by the driver. Riding through the wine lands of Paarl and Franschhoek we will tackle the Franschhoek Pass to cross into the interior of South Africa. Our overnight stop will be a small working wine farm in Robertson.

Day 3
A day to experience the semi-arid area that is known as the Karoo. Koogmans Kloof, Burgers pass and Rooihoogte Pass will guide us to the historical village of Matjiesfontain where we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon we ride along wide open roads until we reach Prince Albert at the foot of the Swartberg mountains. This quaint little “dorpie” is known as one of the best restored victorian villages and is a favourite get-away for stressed Capetownians.

Day 4
Today’s trip takes us over 2 large chains of mountains, first it’s the Meiringspoort Route through the Swartberg and then it’s high up into the clouds on Robinson Pass as we cross the Langeberg. A short ride along the coast and we reach the lagoon city of Knysna where we spend the afternoon relaxing and exploring the village.

Day 5
As we start our return journey to Cape Town we take a different approach to the Langeberg. The long sweeping bends of the Outeniqua Pass take us onto Route 62, a beautiful ride through the little villages of the ostrich breeding area that is the Little Karoo. Our overnight stop will be Montagu.
Lunch, dinner, 4* overnight and breakfast. Daily distance approximately 340km.
Day 6
Just a short ride along the mountains to reach the Overberg Region. Through Swellendam, Bredasdorp and Napier we reach Hermanus. One of the best places in the world to view southern right wales we have the chance to take a boat ride out to see the giant mammals frolicking in the waves. The night will be spent in Hermanus.
Lunch, dinner, 4* overnight and breakfast. Daily distance approximately 230km.
Day 7
A leisurely day, with time in the morning to explore the charming town of Hermanus before we ride along the beautiful coastal Clarence drive back to Cape Town where we return the bikes.
